Principles of Swishmaster

Biomechanics of the swishmaster style jump push shot

The jump shot motion that the Swishmaster helps you condition is called the Swishmaster style jump push shot.

It includes three important motions. First, legs and trunk make a vertical upward jump (which is a steady acceleration base for the second thrust phase of the basketball.) Second, the arm pushes up quickly (as the main thrust to accelerate the basketball.) Finally, the ball is pushed by the wrist and fingers (as launch control of the basketball and the supplementary thrust of the basketball when needed.)

Comparison

Sling shot and Swishmaster style jump push shot

Sling shot is shooting the ball with arm and palm swing like a trebuchet (catapult). Sling shot which most players use is a relatively unstable jump shot method.

Common miss-shot types and causes 1 Left or right deviation Rare (due to elbow set deviation and weak triceps and deltoid) Often (D 1,2,4,5,6)
